Take advantage of this early start to build on your children’s skills and development and help prepare them for a positive experience in Kindergarten. Get support and your questions answered with this series of activities and events throughout the year before your children start school.
Tuesday, October 25th from 6:15-8:30pm is the first presentation in the series. Marianne Vande Pol, District Early Years Coordinator, and Roxane Letterlough, Aboriginal Resource Teacher, will speak with parents and child care providers about a number of topics, including what is generally expected of children when they are starting Kindergarten, what the gradual entry process looks like, and how they can help their children get ready for starting school. There will also be a brief overview of the new school district curriculum, and information about what supports are available for Aboriginal children and families. An Early Childhood Educator will also be joining us to talk about how your children’s early experiences in daycare, preschool, or at home can help to prepare children for the transitions of starting Kindergarten.
Please share this FREE and exciting opportunity with families who have children starting school in September of 2017!
Registration is through the Early Years Centre – Child Care Resource & Referral at 250-376-4771
