Flags are at half-mast to honour Prince PhilipPursuant to the  British Columbia policy for Half-masting (Section 12) , the Canadian flag on all British Columbia government buildings and establishments across the province will be flown at half-mast from now (April 9, 2021) until sunset on the day of the funeral and memorial service (to be determined) to acknowledge death of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh. Superintendents are asked to have all schools lower their flags to mark this occasion as well.

Mary Falade and Joy KwakThe District has implemented policy changes, staff training and new education resources in response to a 2020 petition to teach Black history and experiences.
A District working group that included former SD73 students Mary Falade and Joy Kwak has developed an Anti-Racism and Human Rights plan aimed at including the perspectives, contributions, and experiences of people of colour (POC) in curriculum and school resources.
